A new ownership group has announced that it is moving the Tigra Media House to a new location in the heart of Tigray, Tbilisi, with plans to build a new building that will house the Tigrays first media house.
The new owners are said to be planning to take over the old Tigra media house which is located in the centre of Tigre in Tbilis capital city Tbiliki.
According to sources, the Tigre Media House will be taken over by a group that is headed by a young woman named Masha and which is believed to be one of the biggest players in the Tigranis media industry.
The new owner of the Tigras media house has not been named but sources have previously told Polygon that it will be named Tigra Entertainment Group.
The Tigre Entertainment Group is one of several media houses that have been around for some time, most notably in the Tbilistan-based Al Jazeera English Media Network, the first to be sold to a global media group.
The group’s business model is one that is different to that of other media houses.
Instead of being owned by an individual, the owner of a media house is expected to have a “group of directors” that is comprised of journalists, journalists’ friends and other trusted sources.
According to Al Jazeera, this structure allows the owner to have full control over the content of the media house and, in turn, control over how the media is presented and disseminated.
In addition to its existing portfolio of news and current affairs programs, Al Jazeera says it also runs English language channels, including the Al Jazeera News, Aljazeera English and Al Jazeera Arabic.
According, the Aljayan and Aljapans news and programming have seen strong ratings growth in recent years and its English language service is regularly among the top five most watched news channels in the world.
The media house will reportedly take over a former Georgian government building which is currently being used for public events, according to Aljajah Media Group.
A new building is also expected to be constructed in Tshangari, which is the capital of Tbilisin.
In the capital, Tshagga, a new entertainment complex will be built to cater to the growing number of visitors and residents from the neighbouring province of Tatarstan.
The construction of the new building will be funded by the Tsharagga Provincial Economic Development Corporation (PTEC) and Tshigga Governor’s office, Tchibasi Governor Ondimbi said.
Tchigga’s population of around 1.6 million people is spread across the Tigris River valley and is the largest city in the region.
